a Chinese lunch

This lunch reminds me of China. Homemade jook, and chow mein from a local place – oddly enough, called Harlem. In China, every hotel breakfast had some form of jook. Sometimes it was plain, sometimes it had pei dahn, sometimes meats. Thinking about that trip makes me anxious to return to Asia. Plans for Japan are in the works, I hope that I can make it happen.

*I put a lot of hot chili sauce on my noodles because that chili sauce is crispy, salty, spicy and full of flavor.
