Sunday cookin’

Started the morning helping Kim make “golden pockets” aka krab rangoon. I had some yogurt, Grape Nuts and blackberry jam for breakfast. The Obamas are on every magazine we have in our house! They’re quite photogenic.

I turned these pockets into Golden Purses. This shape is fun to eat. The explosion of hot krab and cream cheese inside is a sure treat for anyone craving fried goodness. We had to improvise on Jeanette’s sauce – instead of lime juice, we used lemon and we couldn’t find canned mangoes, so we scrapped that ingredient. The sauce we have is pretty sweet already, so adding the lemon juice, cilantro and red onions made it pretty dang tasty.
